September 2, 2012 Preaching Jesus: Christ's Passion by Andrew Sharp


Scripture : John 4:27-35John 11:32-38

Jesus is often depicted as an inscrutable, almost other-worldly, figure.

Scripture, while documenting what He did and said, does not appear to offer much description of how Jesus did or said things and, as a result, it may be hard for us to relate to Him who was fully human yet fully God.  Yet, the Gospels do give us glimpses of Jesus’ personality, His emotionality and His enthusiasm for His mission. Through such passages we can more easily connect to the personhood of Jesus.

  1. Andrew's style is engaging and instructive. Jesus humanity shone through. It became clear that the "passion" of Christ is more than the crucifixion. When he was done we were still wanting more. His rewrites of familiar passages were not only humorous but also insightful. Hope hope he will preach again soon. And often...
