Michael took us on a journey of the heart this past week.
Through many vivid images, he painted a picture of Jesus that was compelling and winsome.
Starting with the premise that we are called to seek God implies that we have to look for clues - outside love notes from him.
When we want to talk to a child, its best when we get down to their level. Michael said that is what Jesus was doing with us - getting eye ball to eye ball. Answering where he was during the first 30 years of his life, he told us that he was going to the school of us.
Jesus is hiding in a metaphor / he is tucking beauty away in places that will surprise us if we could but see.
Michael encouraged us to put on our 3 D glasses of
Discover - where are these clues - these love notes
Discern - what is the meaning of this love note
Delight - just pure delight in his care for us
For the second clue, Michael talked of the ego - a time bound entity that is our publicist. We need to learn to separate the soul and the ego. They are not the same thing
I felt that the sermon could have stuck with one clue - and ended with the song. The second clue came at a time that I was still processing his images and ideas from clue one
